RITA MARIE SOILAND

February 1, 1940 to January 14, 2009

Rita Marie Soiland, age 68, passed away Wed. Jan 14, 2009. She resided the last four months in Pinedale, WY, but spent most of her adult life in Lovell Wyoming, which she considered her home. She died after a long battle with COPD and Lupus.

She was born Feb 1, 1940, in Omaha, NE. She was adopted at age three by William and Mary Black. She spent her childhood in Billings, MT with them and her brother Lee. She married Irwin (Snick) Soiland Dec 13, 1957, in Big Timber, MT but they spent their married life living in Lovell, WY raising their children Debra, Linda, Roy, and Teresa.

She is preceded in death by her son Roy, her husband Snick, and her parents William and Mary Black, and her biological brother Harold.

She is survived by her daughters Debra Prewitt (Jerry), Colorado Springs, Co, Linda Mangus (Kenny) Thermopolis, Wy and Teresa Brost (Jim) Pinedale, Wyoming. She also had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved and adored. Rita had the fortune to have 2 families. Her family, who adopted her from an orphanage and her biological family, brother (Harold) and sister (Pat) that she was reunited with in 1989.

Rita enjoyed many things throughout her life some of which were music, reading books, ceramics, crocheting, bowling and collecting dolls. Some of her favorite family activities were camping, watching baseball games, playing cards and YAHTZEE with her kids and grandkids.

She had many lifelong friends in Lovell. Many will remember her sitting on the front porch waving at the cars as they drove by and visiting with neighbors.

She worked at the local sugar factory and grocery store, but was most remembered for her years as an Avon lady.

No funeral services will be held at this time. This spring family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and have a small service at the cemetery in Lovell. Condolences can be sent to her new address at BOX 1083, Pinedale Wyoming 82941.
