King, 45, of Flint, Mich., was killed Friday night in a one-vehicle crash at the junction of U.S. 191 and U.S. 189 near Daniel. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), King, who had three other passengers in his vehicle, was northbound on U.S. 189 approaching Daniel Junction at about 10:11 p.m. Failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection, King’s 1998 Dodge Dakota traveled across U.S. 191, leaving the roadway and striking a dirt berm. Prior to the crash, Kenneth R. Mallow, 39, of Pinedale, was seated on the center console of the pickup truck. Kevin L. Ivie, 38, of Payson, Utah, was in the passenger seat and Kim M. Gruszkiewicz, 25, of Payson, Utah, was seated on Ivie’s lap. Mallow and Ivie were transported to and hospitalized at St. John’s Hospital in Jackson, Wyo. for their injuries. Gruszkiewicz was transported and hospitalized at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, for her injuries. According to the WHP, none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol use by King is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
