Hazel Irene Sparks Summers passed away December 25, 2006 at the Sublette Center in Pinedale where she had been a resident the past eight years. Irene was 98 years old. Hazel Irene Sparks was born September 1, 1908 at the ranch in Boulder, Wyoming to Charles Wilson Sparks and Victoria Elsie Prosise Sparks. Irene was third in line in a family of five children. One brother, Donald W. Sparks, and three sisters, Zelda C. Roop, Thelma L. Swartz, and Cleo A. Hergenreder. All have passed on.

Irene attended schools in Boulder, Wyoming, Rock Springs, Wyoming and Pinedale, Wyoming. March 10, 1929, Hazel Irene Sparks and Henry Hugh (Heinie) Summers were married in Pinedale, Wyoming. Heinie passed away October 16, 1969. Heinie and Irene had one daughter, Marilyn Blanche.

Marilyn married Donald E. Jensen and resides in Boulder, Wyoming. Donald and Marilyn have five children. Irene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #39 since 1929 and she belonged to the Past Matrons Club in Pinedale, Wyoming. Irene is a past member of the Congregational Church in Pinedale, Wyoming.

Irene is survived by daughter Marilyn Jensen (Donald), five Grandchildren, Jerry Jensen, Sally Jensen, Susan Newman (Randy), Timothy Jensen (Jennifer) and Kim Jensen Joseph (Dwayne). Also seven Great Grandchildren, Savannah Newman Webb (Jesse), Keith Newman, Matthew, McKaela, Adrianna, Jefferson and Ammon Jensen and one Great-Great-Grand Son Lee David Webb. Also several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will take place May 6, 2007 at the Covell Funeral Home and Pinedale cemetery in Pinedale, Wyoming. Donations may be made to the Sublette center in Pinedale, Wyoming.
