Olsen upgraded to fair condition

by Mike Fitzgerald

State Representative Monte Olsen, R Daniel, was reportedly upgraded from serious to fair condition Tuesday at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Olsen is recovering from injuries he suffered after being struck by an SUV driven by his wife, 39-year-old Lisa Glenn of Daniel, who was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, according to the Sublette County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriffs said they responded to a domestic situation at 50 Hwy. 354 in Daniel on Monday and found Olsen injured at the scene. He was airlifted to the Idaho Falls hospital and was initially listed in critical condition. Glenn, a local optometrist, was reportedly charged with the misdemeanor and released on a signature bond. The sheriff’s department is still investigating the incident, but there was nothing new to report, according to Undersheriff Jim Whinnery on Wednesday. The 50-year-old Olsen, an avid professional skier and instructor, was first elected to represent House District 22 in 2002. He also serves on the Judiciary Committee.

Olsen represents Sublette County and parts of Teton County. He was born in Cheyenne but is a longtime resident of Sublette County.
