The Green River Valley Museum's annual fundraiser, Hard Hats & Stetsons, will be held March 15 at the Waterhole #3 in Marbleton.  The evening will feature a live and silent auction, raffle balloons, door prizes, hors d'oeuvres catered by Gatzkes' Grubhouse, and dancing to the "Mad Hatters" into the wee hours.

This year's silent auction will continue the tradition of having many items donated by local businesses and citizens of Sublette County. "We could not do this without them, " says Carrie Anderson, the Executive Secretary of the Museum, "they are just so generous." Items include metal sculpture by John Dickie, Matt Guenthner pottery, a gorgeous leather pillow from the Barn Door Design & Interiors, and many household items. Suzy Michnevich has created a Ukrainian egg, there is a handmade birdhouse by Chuck Porter, and local artists have once again donated paintings and other artwork.

The live auction will feature ski packages, golf packages, a Lagoon package, a package to the Pioneer Theatre in Salt Lake, a Utah Symphony package and a Thermopolis trip with lodging, swimming at StarPlunge and entrance to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and the wax museum. Dr. Boyle and Dr. Burnett have donated complete physicals. There are Utah Jazz tickets and a Cheyenne Frontier Days package, among many other goodies.

The raffle offers two $150 gift certificates from Faler's as grand prizes. $10 buys you an "arm's length" of tickets for chances - the more you buy, the better your chances to win Utah Symphony tickets and other nice stuff! There are lots of balloon prizes and games as well.

The money raised will go to enhance new displays, initiate programs through the Wyoming Council of the Humanities Speakers Bureau, and organize special events for this summer's grand opening.
