Beach party: Like nowhere on earth

A male sage grouse struts among his peers on the shores of a Sublette County lake Sunday. It may be the only sage grouse lek (mating area) in the world found on the beach of a high-mountain lake. Unfortunately, the mating season is winding down and the hen grouse are becoming less receptive. Demonstrating his frustration, one grouse was seen repeatedly mounting a beachside cow pie.
