Private family services were held for Fred Freeman July 6, 2008. Fred passed away Feb. 18,2007, while in Florida to receive chemo treatment for Stage 4 lung cancer. He was 74 years of age.
Fred was born in Bentonville, Ark., on Jan. 23,1933. He was raised in Marysville, Calif., where he and LuAnne met and married in 1950.
Fred entered the Federal Prison Service as a Correctional Officer in April, 1958, at Alcatraz Island. He retired in January, 1983 from Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Mo. He served at eight major institutions during his career. Fred and LuAnne lived in Cora since 1983.
Survivors include wife LuAnne, sons Fred of Houston, Tex., and Charles of Cora, Wyo., daughters June of Lawton, Okla., and Patti of Bradenton, Fla. Fred and LuAnne have 10 grandchildren and 7-7/9 great-grandchildren.
Fred is missed by those whose lives he touched during his earthly journey. He is at rest now inWyoming where he chose to spend his life.
A tree was planted and dedicated by the family in theirDadís memory.
