Obituaries

Byron Terrell “Bud” Brown

Byron T. “Bud” Brown, passed away surrounded by his loving family at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 20, 2007, at the age of 77.

“Bud” as he was known, was born on Oct. 25, 1929 in Wichita, Kan., the son of Terrell Hubert and Maybelle (Kendrick) Brown. He married Carol Esther Becker on Nov. 23, 1950, in San Diego, Calif.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict as a drill sergeant.

He was a member of the American Legion. He also enjoyed flying, spending time with horses, golfing and was a member of the exclusive pilot’s club, The Quiet Birdmen Club. He spent his working career in business and real estate.

He was a member of the Baptist Fellowship Church in LaBarge.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of LaBarge; children – son, Michael (Elizabeth) Brown, of LaBarge, and daughter, Rhonda Brown, and her husband, Tom Grotta, of Wilton, Conn. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher (Haley) Brown, Terrell Brown, Brenden Brown and Carter Grotta. He is also survived by a brother, Truett (Orla) Brown, of San Diego.; and a sister, Joy Walker, of Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in LaBarge, with Pastor Ed Bryan officiating. Interment with military honors followed the services at the Diamondville Cemetery, Diamondville.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church of LaBarge or to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home in Kemmerer.
