Examiner introduces new general manager

This week, Wyoming Newspapers, Inc. Group Publisher Mike Jensen has announced that Trey Wilkinson has been promoted to general manager of the Sublette Examiner. Wilkinson moved to Pinedale in March and has been working for the Examiner as editor for the past three months. Prior to taking the editor’s position at the Examiner, Wilkinson worked in Torrington as editor for the Torrington Telegram.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” Wilkinson said. “It’s a beautiful part of the country and I’m very pleased with my move to Pinedale.”

Wilkinson, originally from Rochelle, Ill., graduated from the University of Illinois and immediately took a position at his hometown’s paper as sports editor for the Rochelle News-Leader. In 2005 Wilkinson accepted a job in Torrington, where he worked as a reporter for the Torrington Telegram and editor for the Lusk Herald.

“I look forward to building on what is already a solid community newspaper,” Wilkinson said. “I want people to feel welcome coming through our doors, whether they have ideas, comments or opinions for the paper or are looking to do business with us. I look forward to working in and with the community.”

Wilkinson accepted the general-manager position after former general manager Deanne Swain left the Sublette Examiner to pursue other interests. Wilkinson will continue to work as the newspaper’s editor while also assuming the general-manager duties.
