Obituaries

Donald B. Neff

Don Neff, 81, passed away in Marbleton early Saturday May 6,2006, due to complications from a heart attack. Don was born July 16, 1924, in Salt Lake City to Cyrus and Marie Neff. Most of his years as a child and young adult were spent in Salt Lake and Eureka, Utah. He completed his high school education in Salt Lake City and worked in the coal mines in Eureka. Later he enlisted in the armed forces during World War II as a seaman in the Merchant Marines.

After serving his country, he married Ruth Erskine on March 22, 1946, in Salt Lake. Together they had three children. Don was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing at Fontenelle Reservoir and on the Green River. He also loved to hunt in the foothills and mountains of Sublette County.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Big Piney; daughter Kathy (Barney) Cox of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; son Craig (Marcia) Neff of Provo, Utah; sisters Elma Michoff and Connie Vale; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stuart; sisters Jean Hansen, Gwen Burns and Joan Burt, and an infant brother, Jay.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 9, at Covill Funeral Home in Pinedale.


Emma Polson Rees service set

Emma Polson Rees passed away Tuesday, May 9, at her Triangle 5 Ranch home west of Big Piney. There will be a viewing on Saturday, May 13, at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at noon, all at the LDS Church in Big Piney.

The Examiner will print a full obituary at a later date.


LeRoy Anthony Neumayer

LeRoy Neumayer, 75, passed away Sunday evening May 7, at St.John’s Living Center in Jackson. Leroy was born Aug, 22, 1930, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Theresa Neumayer. He is survived by his wife JoAn Neumayer of Pinedale.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will beheld at a later date.


Susan Florence Eyre Platts

Susan Florence Platts, 94, passed away at the Sublette Center in Pinedale the evening of May 2, 2006. Susan was born June 28, 1911, in Lyman to James E. and Lydia Eyre. A graveside service forclose family and friends was held Friday, May 5, at the Riverview Cemetery in Green River at 11 a.m. A full obituary will follow at a later date.
