Obituaries

Victoria B. “Peggy” Butler

Victoria B. “Peggy” Butler, 82, of Laramie died April 8, 2006, at her home. She was born Dec. 22, 1923, in Laramie, the daughter of Arthur and Victoria (Hall) Bolin. Her family moved to Cheyenne and then to Rock Springs, where she graduated from high school in 1941. She married Ben Butler in Rock Springs on June 11, 1944. They moved to Laramie in December 1952.

A daughter, Barbara Walker, and her husband, Perry, of Daniel, and a grandson, Ethan Walker, and his wife, Jasmine, of Glendale, Ariz., survive her.

Her husband, Ben, her parents and a sister, Betty Purpich, preceded her in death.

Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.


Philip Don Licking

Philip Licking, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Boulder the morning of April 19, 2006. Phil was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Thedford, Neb., the was the son of Harold and Ruth Licking.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a military policeman. He was a tough old cowboy who enjoyed rodeoing, horses and the ranching way of life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Virginia.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral services have been scheduled.
