Sublette Examiner Volume 6, Number 5 - April 27, 2006 brought to you online by Pinedale Online RHCB opts to buy Boyle’s practice The Sublette County Rural Health Care Board met Monday, April 24, in Marbleton and began the meeting with an executive session lasting over an hour. At the end of that session, the board reconvened in open session and passed a motion to buy the practice of Dr. Judy Boyle for $300,000. In a later statement from the board, they explained that the payment covered the value of a trained staff, a functioning business system and the medical records of the clinic. Boyle did not attend the meeting but was represented by her attorney, Elizabeth Greenwood. The board will now proceed to hire additional medical personnel and will negotiate with Boyle for her continued services. The purchase was approved by the board with a unanimous vote, meaning that the absence of Garry Eiden and Walt Bousman would have made no difference in the decision. Board Member Mary Lynn Worl commented that she voted for the motion with some reservations. Chairman Jerry Jensen felt it was done “in the best interests of the citizens of Sublette County” and Board Member Bill Barney said, “It will advance health care in the county.” Following a brief session to handle routine business, the board again adjourned to executive session to address land purchase, personnel issues and pending litigation.
