Sublette Examiner Volume 6, Number 2 - April 6, 2006 brought to you online by Pinedale Online RHCB discusses Sand Draw emergency facility The Sublette County Rural Health Care Board met Monday, April 3, with Board Member Mary Lynn Worl chairing in the absence of Chairman Jerry Jensen. The regular meeting was preceded by an executive session lasting over an hour to discuss pending litigation. Board Member Garry Eiden chose not to attend that session due to disagreement with board actions and policy. In regular session, no significant issues were discussed regarding either the Marbleton or Pinedale clinics. Director Randy Johnson updated the board on progress with the proposed Sand Draw emergency facility. Johnson reported that BP, Ultra, Shell and EnCana were represented, along with some of the larger contractors in planning the facility. The health care board has committed personnel to staff emergency medical services at the facility, with the industry group to fund the building and equipment for EMS and fire protection. Eiden asked how they could provide the added services when they are already short-handed. Design, costs and management responsibility are issues yet to be resolved regarding that facility. Johnson expects it to move forward with more details in the near future. In other business, the board approved changes in sick leave policy to allow donation of time by employees to other employees in need. Several contracts were approved and signed with other health-related organizations and informational groups. A request to grant additional purchasing authority to Johnson was tabled. The board then went back into executive session to discuss personnel, land acquisition and Pinedale clinic operations. See The Archives for past articles.
