Sublette Examiner Volume 6, Number 11 - June 8, 2006 brought to you online by Pinedale Online The races are on! With the closing of the filing period for candidates to appear on the 2006 Primary Election ballot came a flurry of new filings. The race to fill two county commission seats will now be a race in both political parties in the county. Incumbent Republicans Bill Cramerof Bondurant and Betty Fear of Big Piney will take on challengers Joel Bousman and Suzy Michnevich of Boulder, Ron Gordon of Big Piney, and Stan Zierlein and Timothy Lingle of Pinedale. The Democrats will have Bob McCarty and Courtney Skinner on their ballots for the commission seats. The three available Sublette County Rural Health Care District seats will have competition as well. Since these are non-partisan seats, the primary election will decide who will serve. Bill Barney, Bill Budd, Jim Carbley and Jennifer Rees, all of Big Piney, have filed for the seats, as have Dave Racich, Jud Faler and Mary Lynn Worl of Pinedale, and Jerry Jensen of Boulder. The seats are currently held by Barney, Jensen and Worl. Incumbent Republicans who have no challengers on the ballot include County Clerk Mary Lankford, Treasurer Roxanna Jensen, Assessor Janet L.Montgomery, Sheriff Bardy Bardin, Coroner Don Schooley, Attorney Ralph Boynton and Clerk of District Court Marilyn Jensen. At the state representative level, incumbent Republicans Monte Olsen of Daniel and Kathy Davison of Kemmerer have no challengers for their house seats. See The Archives for past articles.
