James D. “Jim” Carr

James D. “Jim” Carr was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Big Piney to Guy M. and Lorena Scheidler Carr, the youngest of four brothers. He died March 8, 2006, at the Marbleton-Big Piney Clinic.

After graduating from Big Piney High School, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy. He served four years before being honorably discharged. While on leave from the Navy, Jim married the love of his life, Sandra Rolph, in 1954.

Jim and Sandra settled back in Big Piney and had three daughters: Jamie (Albuquerque), Shannon (Pinedale) and Kelly (South Carolina).

Jim retired from Williams Field Services in 1979 and later worked at Wheel In Liquors.

He enjoyed old movies, sports, trivia, crossword puzzles, cribbage and a cold beer. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make his friends laugh with his old jokes.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Guy Jr., Ed and Boyd and his beloved wife, Sandra.

He is survived by his three daughters, nine grand children and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and, per his wishes, no servicesare planned.
