RHCD continues recruitment for Marbleton clinic

by Bill Boender

The Sublette County Rural Health Care Board met in Pinedale Monday, Feb. 13, with board members Bill Barney and Garry Eiden absent. The board agreed to join the Sublette County health insurance plan and to fund 80 percent of the HSA annual contribution of $2,500 for employees.

The board also approved a contract with Dan Farrand of Green River Computing to set up computerized information technology to handle billing and medical records for both clinics. Cost of hardware is estimated at $48,000 which does not include software. Servicing the system will cost $48,000 per year plus an additional $2,000 per month for initial consultation and implementation of the system.

Recruiting for personnel at the Marbleton-Big Piney Clinic is continuing with the use of Internet services of Career Builders and Monster.com. No applicants are currently under consideration.

The board will pursue the possibility of establishing ambulance service at Sand Draw in cooperation with industry. A proposal to set up a combined safety training, ambulance and fire facility is under consideration by a group of gas industry operators and contractors. The possible establishment of ambulance service in Bondurant has been determined to be not feasible due to lack of demand in that area.

Construction documents for the new ambulance barn are expected to be available by March 10, with groundbreaking scheduled for April 1.

No bids have been received for the building purchased and set up at the Pinedale Medical Clinic for accounting and office use but never put into use. Efforts will continue to find a buyer at less than cost if necessary.

The board ended the public meeting and went into executive session to discuss personnel, litigation, property purchase and conversion of the Pinedale clinic to board operation. No significant actions were reported following that session.
