Obituaries

June Darlene Clark

June Darlene (Vickrey) Clark passed away on Jan. 18, 2006, at Enloe Hospital in Chico, Calif., from complications of a heart attack. She was born June 9, 1939, at Opal, the daughter and youngest child of George Walter and Florence Haddenham Vickrey.

Her early life was spent in the LaBarge and Big Piney areas. She moved to Oroville, Calif., with her husband shortly after they married to raise her family. June had a great passion for her faith in God; he brought tremendous comfort to her in later years.

Her family and friends' most fond memories of June were of her talents for cooking, sewing and her beautiful paintings. Her other passions included sewing and cooking, plus mothering all who knew and loved her. She loved traveling to North Dakota and Wyoming to visit her granddaughters and her family. She was a 4-H leader when her children were young and continued as a leader while her grandson was in 4-H. She took great pride in her sewing and loved to teach other children to sew. She had a large extended family in Butte County, Calif., and was called Mom by many.

June's work of love for 45 years was as a mother and homemaker for her children and family, including her extended family. She also grew olives on her ranch for 39 years and worked as a seamstress at Express Cleaners for seven years.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence Vickrey; her brother Leonard Vickrey; nephews Ernest Bahem, Larry Vickrey and Roy Milburn; and niece Iris (Vickrey) Porenta.

She is survived by her children: Julie Reyes of Oroville, Calif., Roger and (Terri) Clark of Fernly, Nev., Kim and (Tony) Nunez of Paradise, Calif., Leslie and (Mike) Ramsbacher of Helena, Mont.; extended family Jon and Molly Hirshfeld of Minot, N.D., Emilo and Jan Reyes of Oroville; grandchildren:Cole Reyes of Oroville, Ashley, Allison and Jacob Hirshfeld of Minot, Corey and Jacob Nunez of Paradise, Calif.; great-grandchild CadynH irshfeld of Minot; her husband of 29 years, Dave L. Clark of Oroville; brother Clarence Vickrey and his wife, Mary, of La Barge; sisters Ella Bahem and Mary White of Rock Springs; and sister-in-law Marilyn (Leonard) Vickrey of Yuma, Ariz. June had numerous nieces, nephews and family members in Wyoming, Arizona, Alaska, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Canada who loved and will miss her dearly.

Funeral services were held at the Oroville Funeral Home in Oroville on Jan. 23. Interment was at Viola Cemetery on LaBarge Creek. Graveside dedication services were held Jan. 25 with a memorial service at the LaBarge Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel.
