Reporter's Notes

Wolves

Senator Bruce Burns and Representative Pat Childers, co-chairmen of the Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Interim Committee of the Wyoming Legislature, have announced the committee will meet Dec. 15 and 16 at 8 a.m. at the University of Wyoming Alumni House in Laramie.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider gaming legislation, and issues related to Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources. Paul Hoffman of the U. S. Interior Department is scheduled to address the committee at 9:15 on Dec. 15 to discuss wolves.


EIS timelines

The Jonah Infill final environmental impact statement is due for release in mid-January 2006, according to the Bureau of Land Management. The release of the FEIS will be followed by a 30-day public review period, witha record of decision released some time after that. The draft supplemental environmental impact statement for year-round drilling operations on the Pinedale Anticline won't be out until probably sometime next Summer, the BLM reported.


4-H photos

4-H photography participants in the Big Piney area are invited to a meeting at 3:30 on Friday, Dec. 16, at the Big Piney Library. This will be the first project meeting of the new year.


Farm Bureau

Sublette County Farm Bureau will hold a business meeting on Friday, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m. in the Farm Bureau Insurance office in Pinedale. Agenda items include updates on recent activities and events, adoption of a budget and plan of work and election of officers. All Farm Bureau members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
