Veterans office to open
One day a week at Rendezvous Pointe

Wyoming Veterans Commission Chair Patty Bergan and other veterans advocates spoke with Sublette County Commissioners about opening an office in Pinedale to provide services to veterans.

“We don’t talk about our veterans and we don’t take care ofour veterans,” said veteran Bill Thompson.

Bergan said she would like to establish an office at Rendezvous Pointe one day a week so that veterans would no longer have to drive to Sweetwater County.

“We should own up to our promises to our veterans,” Bergan said.

Bergan presented a funding request to the commission to establish a Sublette County Veterans Office, answerable to the county commission.

The commission was unanimous in offering whole-hearted support for the program, providing $25,000 in county funding for the office’s first annual budget.
