Obituaries

Charles E. "Sug" Kundert

Charles E., "Sug," Kundert, 87, returned home on Sept. 30,2005. He was born to Charles and Julia Kundert on June 8, 1918, near Waukomis,Okla.

He married Ruth Walker on Aug. 20, 1939, in Goodwell, Okla. To this union were born three wonderful children: Richard, Juanita and Karen.

He moved his family to Big Piney in the 1950s to work in the oilfield. He retired from Williams in 1987. His wife, Ruth, preceded him in death on May 13, 1987.

On Sept. 5, 1987, he married Mary Helen Fisk in Dalhart, Texas. They made their home in Big Piney.

Sug loved to spend time with his family. He had many different hobbies, andloved to put farm machinery together, woodworking, working crossword puzzles and gardening. He served as a deacon for the Southern Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth's son, Richard, and sisters Audine Campbell and June Bridge.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen of Big Piney; daughters Juanita Kundert of Pinedale and Karen (Gene) Wickwire of Big Piney; grandaughters Kris (Merrill) Stringer of Mountain View, Tammy (Dewey) Smith of Helena, Mont., Kari (John) Combs of Chandler, Ariz. ; seven great-granddaughters: Meagan, Cheri, Trina, Trinitini, Tiffany, Whitney andM aranda; two great-grandsons: Joey and Kraig; and three stepsons: Larry, Ronand Steve Fisk and families, all of Texas.

We will miss him very much.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Churchin Big Piney with Pastor Larry Mizell officiating. Interment followed in Plainview Cemetery.


Kenneth Wesley Pearson

Kenneth (Kenny) Wesley Pearson was born June 19, 1932, in Daniel. He passed away at his home on Oct. 3, 2005, with his wife, Cathaline, at his side.

He was the son on Alvin Benjamin Pearson Sr. and Eileen Wilma Pape Pearson. He had two brothers, Ben and Paul. He served in the U.S. Army, attainind the rank of Sergeant 1st Class in the Korean War and received the Silver Star.

On Aug. 2, 1953, he married Cathaline Nora Gabardi, daughter of Otto and Helen Gabardi. They had two children: Eillen Rose Pearson Robinson and Kenneth Luckie Pearson. They made their residence south of Big Piney.

Kenny was employed 35 years with Belco as a field foreman. He retired from Belco in June 1987 and went on to own and operate Pearson Matting and Framing.

He is survived by his wife, Cathaline; daughter, Eillen Robinson; two granddaughters: Tandy Jo Harshbarger and Misty Marie Gallegos; three great-grandchildren: Shaily Brook Harshbargar, Daxton Lucky Harshbarger and Kylie Tierra Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul, and his son, Kenneth Luckie.

He was blessed with much talent and will be missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct.6, at 11 a.m.in Plainview Cemetery.
