RHCB to discuss clinic designs

by Bill Boender

The Sublette County Rural Health Care Board met Monday, Aug. 29, at the Marbleton Fire Hall and heard updates from Director Randy Johnson on the status of clinic operations and employee recruitment. The addition of Dr. Taz Czarnik to the staff gives the Marbleton Clinic two physicians. Another good prospect is considering joining the clini, which would provide full coverage. There is still a need for additional nursing staff and ads are being placed in Utah and Idaho publications in an effort to fill those openings.

Johnson advised that the architects will be here on Sept. 6 and 7 to meet with board members and clinic staff to go over designs for the proposed new clinics and ambulance facilities. Retired engineer Bill Schertz and Sublette County Commissioner John Linn will attend meetings to observe and offer input.

Emphasis will be on finalizing Pinedale ambulance barn plans and starting that work before winter.

Board Member Garry Eiden noted that the board has been trying to get the construction project going for two years but still has no plan in place, stating "I'd like to see this project go forward and not in reverse."

The board ended the meeting in executive session to discuss potential litigation but released no information about the nature of that matter.
