Grace Chamberlain

Grace Chamberlain, 85, of Pinedale passed away with family by her side Wednesday, July 19, ending her battle with cancer.

Grace was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Burton, Idaho, to Fred and Rosa (Beck) Kauer. She was sixth of 11 siblings.

Grace married Merle Chamberlain in Paris, Idaho, on Oct. 12, 1940. The two moved to Sublette County and together for 19 years they raised daughters Joyce Kay, Barbara Anne and sons Dean Merle and Ted John.

Preceding her in death were her parents, eight of her brothers and sisters, husband Merle, daughter Joyce and her son Dean.

Grace is survived by her son Ted Chamberlain of Pinedale and daughter Barbara Stradley of Etolie, Texas; brothers Ralph and Lorin Kauer, both of Rexburg, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Grace took care of many members of the community, young and old alike. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary. She was a woman with great strength and energy and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at the Pinedale Cemetery Saturday, July 30, at 1 p.m.
