County valuation hits $2.9 billion

Sublette County's valuation rose to just to just under the $3 billion valuation mark, according to information released by Sublette County Assessor Janet L. Montgomery on Tuesday.

The final figure was $2,924,020,029, with the majority of that amount ($2,564,144,305) for natural gas and $170,447,231 for oil.

The valuation by school district is extremely lop-sided, with District No. 9 having $533,050,902 in valuation, compared to District No. 1's $2,390,969,127.

Natural gas development in both the Pinedale Anticline and the Jonah Field occur in District No. 1, accounting for the out-of-kilter valuations.
