Joshua A. Shepard

Joshua Allen Shepard, 23, of Roberts, Idaho, formerly of LaBarge, died Feb. 9, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, due to complications of cerebral palsy.

He was born Oct. 4, 1981, in El Centro, Calif., the son of Gary L. and Debbra Shepard. He had lived in California, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada and Wyoming before moving to Roberts six months ago. In 2002, he graduated with a certificate from Big Piney High School in Big Piney.

He attended Our Camp, Inc. near Sheridan annually. He enjoyed playing card games, computers, fishing, playing pool, bowling, traveling and especially being with his family and friends.

He was a special "protector" of his nieces. Because of the wonderful generosity of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nevada, he was able to go to Disney World in Florida.

He is survived by his father, Gary Shepard of Big Piney; his mother Debbra Shepard of Roberts; brothers Gary M. (Rica) Shepard of San Diego, Calif., Pete Shepard of Big Piney and Dominique (Desiree') Bondley of Bismarck, N.D.; sisters Kellie (Clint) Huizenga of Merriman, Neb., and Jessica Bondley of Rock Springs; grandparents Gerald and Amy Shepard of Wellton, Ariz., Tom and Linda Spafford of Binford, N.D., and Florence Begordis of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his mother Cindy Shepard, twin brother Cody Shepard and grandparents Robert Begordis and Clarence and Margie Wernick.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb.15, at 3 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls with Pastor Dale Wise officiating. Memorial services will also be held on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center Auditorium in Big Piney, with Pastors Lonnie and Opal Williams officiating.
