Ruth Reinow

Ruth Reinow of Pinedale died Jan. 4, 2005, at St. John's Medical Center with loving friends by her side.

Ruth Annie Jordan Reinow was born in Lowell, Mass., on December 10, 1910. In 1932, she graduated with a degree in nursing from Boston Children's Hospital. When her mother, father and adult brother died within four months of each other in 1936, she inherited three children, her younger siblings, and raised them.

Ruth married Dr. Bert Reinow in Ridgewood, N.J., Aug. 20, 1952. According to her, "Bert went back East for a camera and a sailboat and returned to Pinedale with me."

She brought her nurse's training to his veterinary practice and they served the people of Sublette County until his death in 1997.

A marker on her door at the Sublette Center, placed there by a friend, reads, "A kindhearted lady lives here."

Known throughout the community as a generous and helpful lady, she assisted with family, individual needs, education and became known to her daily friends as the candy lady. Civic projects always received her support as did the library, museum, Rendezvous Pointe, the sailing regatta, Rendezvous celebrations and the list goes on. She was truly a lady for all seasons.

She is survived by her brother, George F. Jordan of Shrewsbury, Mass.; and sisters Marcia Walker of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Olive Simos of Fountain Valley, Calif., many loving nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, and nephews and many "adopted" children and grandchildren of Pinedale.

No services, as she wished, are planned. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Katherine Mildred Rotzjean

Katherine Mildred Rotzjean, 58, of Pinedale passed away Jan. 3, 2005, at St. John's Medical Center in Jackson with her daughter and son-in-law at her bedside. By God's grace, she courageously battled a number of illnesses including lupus, lung cancer and the numerous side effects of each; it was a quick onset of pneumonia that quickly took her home to be with Jesus.

Katherine was born Oct.10, 1946, in Denver, Colo., the third of seven children born to Jack and Jewell Rozean. She was raised in Granby, Colo., where she graduated from high school. She graduated from beauty school in Denver.

She married and had a daughter in Grand Lake, Colo., then resided and worked in northern California, where she remarried and had a son. In 1999 she moved to Pinedale to be closer to her daughter, and experience all the joys of being a grandma for the first time. Her years in Pinedale were her most joyous and peaceful, despite her constant struggles with health.

Katherine leaves her daughter Regina Moritsch, son-in-law Don Moritsch, beloved grandsons Tyler and Trevor Moritsch of Pinedale, and her son Jason Kavouras of Sunnyvale, Calif., as well as two sisters and four brothers, their spouses, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, grandparents, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousin.

Aside from the delight she shared with her grandsons, Katherine found comfort and pleasure in reading, journaling, garage saleing and shopping.

Katherine was many things to many people in a most angelic way. She always had the right words for those she loved. Her light always shined bright, even in the most trying of times, as she thought to lift up others first. She treasured family and friends, and always kept each one close in heart, whether near or far. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered always.
