Daniel Junction speed limit lowered to 55 mph

The Wyoming Department of Transportation recently announced the lowering of the speed limit at Daniel Junction.

According to Jim Montuoro, district traffic and maintenance engineer, the speed limit will be lowered to 55 miles per hour on U.S. Highway191 from milepost 110.25 and 110.93. This area encompasses the junction with U.S. 189, as well as the Merna Road turnoff.

Montuoro added the change has been submitted, approved and the new signs ordered. The signs will be installed as schedules and weather permits.

In a related issue, WYDOT is awaiting concurrence from the Teton County Commissioners on reducing the speed limit through on WYO 22 in the Wilson area. Once the commissioners indicate a lower speed limit is wanted, WYDOT will go ahead with the change process.
