Public no-show at administrator meeting

The Sublette County Rural Health Care District administrator advisory committee held a meeting Tuesday evening in Big Piney to gather public input on the idea of hiring an administrator for the district, but once again no members of the public attended to provide their views.

This is the second such meeting held in Big Piney, with no attendance at the first meeting either. The advisory committee also held a meeting in Pinedale last week, which was attended by a Daniel couple. Regardless, in order to give the public one more opportunity to share their views, the committee will hold one last public input meeting next Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sublette County Library in Pinedale.

The committee, which consists of Dave Racich, Judy Anderson, Jay Anderson, Robin Miley and Maxine Leckie, has met numerous times over the last month to deliberate the topic assigned to it by the RHCD board. The committee is to presume the district will be hiring an administrator; formulate a list of goals or achievements; list responsibilities in relation to the goals; gain input from emergency medical technicians, clinics, the district clerk, and other organizations supported by the district; and address the relationship of the administrator to these sectors, as well as to the public.

The committee is slated to present its preliminary findings to the RHCD board at its meeting next Monday night, April 12, in Pinedale. RHCD Chairman Walt Bousman said he is looking forward to the preliminary report during the board's regular monthly business meeting, but added that the board may need to host a special meeting to hear the committee's final recommendations, when those recommendations have been completed.
