RHCD signs docs' new contracts

by Bill Boender

Some 29 people attended the Monday night regular meeting of the Sublette County Rural Health Care Board, many with concerns about the many rumors circulating about Dr. Judy Boyle and her status as medical director of the Pinedale Medical Clinic. After board members signed the new contracts, they adjourned into executive session with both doctors and their attorney, Elizabeth Greenwood. No action was taken as acting chairman Bill Barney reconvened the meeting.

Several in attendance requested the opportunity to address the board. All expressed their confidence and support for Dr. Boyle and questioned what they felt was unfair treatment by some board members. Several requested an apology from the board, excluding Garry Eiden, who has been a consistent supporter of Boyle.

In other business, the board noted that air conditioning is working in Marbleton but is not adequate in Pinedale. The board will ask the contractor to report on furnishing a temporary unit to assist with cooling the lab area. Only one bid was received from Intermountain Electric for the helipad work in the amount of $38,025. The board will accept the bid after review by legal counsel and assurance of timely completion.

A proposed contract from G E Johnson for work on constructing and remodeling clinics was received and will be considered. Garry Eiden abstained from voting, stating "I don't see where this $6,000,000 is coming from."

A preliminary review of possible sites for the new Marbleton Clinic was done, with action deferred until more information on prices, value and suitability can be gathered. Due to the length of the meeting, remaining agenda items regarding comp time, additional holidays, the proposed administrator/coordinator position and policy matters were tabled.
