Jonah dinner tonight

A spring appreciation dinner is set for tonight, Thursday, March 25, at 6 p.m. in the dining hall at the Sublette County Fairgrounds near Marbleton. The Jonah Field operators, service companies and other resource providers will provide for an evening of dining, entertainment and information.

The event is free of charge and offered to anyone in the region who has been involved in the development, support or appreciation of the gas operators and service industry in the Jonah Field.

Larsen correction

One of last week's Examiner articles discussing county planning and zoning activities incorrectly noted "because water in the complex is an issue," commercial laundry facilities would be prohibited in the New Fork Complex Subdivision. In reality, the issue was with septic, not water.

Interior disconnected

Last week, the U.S. Department of Interior was ordered to shut down much of its Internet connections. A federal court judge ordered the shutdown, citing problems with security in protecting Indian Trust royalty accounts. This is the third such shutdown in recent years, all for the same problem. Not only can the public not access the websites of Interior Department agencies, but the agencies e-mail capabilities are shut down as well.

The U.S. Geologic Survey and National Park Service websites are not included in the shutdown because these agencies convinced the judge their security problems had been resolved.
