First Energy: "One call" service support

First Energy Services Company, headquartered in LaBarge, employs more than 500 people, and offers a comprehensive line of diversified support services for the oil and gas industry, from roustabouting, heavy equipment services to providing comprehensive gas plant maintenance, oilfield trucking, hot oiling, flowback testing to fluid hauling and much more.

"We are the largest oilfield service support company in western Wyoming," said First Energy's Operations Support Manager Jay Anderson.

First Energy is known as the "One Call" energy service support company. That means that from well location preparation to final well hook-up to final site reclamation, the company can meet the needs of the industry. With an extensive line of heavy equipment and extensive experience in pipeline installation and well-field maintenance, the company is well equipped to handle the job. First Energy has hot oil units and frac tanks and has field offices located in Pinedale, Rock Springs, Wamsutter, Gillette and LaBarge.

First Energy was awarded the maintenance contract with ExxonMobil last November for the Shute Creek gas plant, dehydration facility, and the Black Canyon and Road Hollow production fields. Eighty-five employees are deployed daily to service this contract.

First Energy has made several significant purchases of other companies in recent years, including Schmid Oilfield Services in 2000 and HB&R and K&H Construction in 2001, among others.

First Energy has a sterling safety record. The oil and gas industry uses a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) to determine the effectiveness of a safety program. For 2002, First Energy's TRIR was 0.91, which is outstanding in an industry where 5 and greater is the norm.
