Wally Nielson

Wally Nielson, 54, of Evanston, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2003. One of seven children born to Walt and Virginia Nielson, he was born on Oct. 23, 1949. He attended school in Big Piney, where he played football, and served in the United States Army from 1969-1971.

He married Anne James on Sept. 2, 1980, and was the proud father of four children: Dan, Doug, Brandy and Wally, and 12 grandchildren.

Wally, an electrician by trade, was a man of many talents, from carpentry to farming, welding and even occasionally twisted a few wrenches. He was a man of great passion, and among all his traits was a great heart. No matter how busy he was, there was always time to help others, be it friends, neighbors or even a road-stranded stranger.

Wally loved the outdoors, which was evident in his way of life, living on a small farm along the Bear River. He surrounded himself with the animals and things he loved, a man with a great sense of humor, never running short of silly things to do or say to lighten the moment, a man content with what life had given him and strived to do the best in everything.

He will truly be missed by those who had the wonderful pleasure of his presence in their lives. May his spirit live on in our memories until we are together again.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Elks Lodge off East Service Road, 268 Duncomb Hollow Drive, Evanston.
