Commission speeds up PDR process

by Cat Urbigkit

Meeting April 17 at 2 p.m. in Marbleton

Sublette County Clerk Mary Lankford confirmed that the Sublette County Commission has set aside two full hours at its next commission meeting for comment and discussion for the Sublette County Purchase of Development Rights program.

The meeting will be held Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at the county annex in Marbleton.

"I don't know if we will decide that day," Commission Chairman Gordon Johnston said. "We'll decide at that time whether or not to decide at that time," he said.

Johnston said those wanting to have their say about the issue do not need to call Lankford to sign up to speak, but just need to attend the session. He said within that two-hour time span, the PDR working group can give its recommendation, and the remainder of the time period will be for commission discussion and public comment.

Although the commission had scheduled the public hearing on the PDR proposal for its May 20 meeting, Johnston said, "May 20 has been superceded by a decision to get it over with."

The PDR working group wants the commission to approve a pilot PDR project with an allocation of $1 million.
