Sublette Examiner Volume 3, Number 14 - July 3, 2003 brought to you online by Pinedale Online Victim Assistance closes doors Sublette County Victim Assistance program has closed its doors, but that doesn't mean the services won't still be available, according to VA board member Dave Lankford. Services will be continued through the county attorney's office and the sheriff's department. Lankford said the board has been every pleased with how the program has been operating, but when program coordinator Yasmin Braban gave notice that she would no longer remain as coordinator, it was time to re-evaluate. The volume of casework has been declining, Lankford said, combined with the board trying to find a replacement for Braban resulted in the board's re-evaluating the program and its funding needs. Since Victim Assistance had requested money from both the town and the county, Lankford said, fiscal responsibility was an issue as well. "We decided to sit back and see if there is a better way of taking care of the need," he said. "We want to keep the idea alive, but to be fiscally responsible, we couldn't refill the position.
