Comment now on wild rivers

The Bureau of Land Management issued a press release stating that it needs public comment on the results contained in a document entitled, "Review of Potential Wild and Scenic Rivers (WSR) in the Pinedale Resource Management Plan Planning Area," and wants those comments by May 5.

"The WSR review was conducted as part of the pre-planning and for initial public review and comment during the scoping period for the Pinedale Resource Management Plan effort," said Martin Hudson, outdoor recreation planner for the Pinedale BLM office. The formal RMP scoping period will close on May 5. "Any comments made in this review will be taken into consideration in developing the Pinedale RMP," Hudson added.

The review document is available on the BLM website on the Internet at: www.wy.blm.gov/pfo/wsr/report/pdf. The same information is also found through links at: www.pinedalermp.com. To locate the document, click on the topic buttons titled Documents and Bulletins. Comments may be made directly online at www.pinedalermp.com, e-mail at pinedale_wymail@blm.gov or by mailing written comments to: Pinedale RMP/EIS, Bureau of Land Management, Pinedale Field Office, PO Box 768, Pinedale, WY 82941.

The four waterways found suitable are the East Fork River Unit (including Irish Canyon Creek, 2.9 miles); the Green River above Warren Bridge (8.6 miles); Scab Creek Unit (including Jenna Creek, 4.2 miles); and the Silver Creek Unit (including an unnamed tributary, 1.8 miles).
