Jack Morrow Hills

The Bureau of Land Management in Rock Springs announced that the supplemental draft environmental impact statement for the Jack Morrow Hills Coordinated Activity Plan will be made available in November and will be subject to a 90-day public comment period.

Comments on the supplemental EIS will be reviewed and incorporated in the final EIS.

The BLM also issued a new Jack Morrow Hills (JMH) newsletter Tuesday afternoon. "The BLM wants to make the JMH newsletter available to as many people as possible," said Rey Adame, public affairs officer for the Rock Springs BLM field office.

The newsletter is available on the BLM Rock Springs website: www.wy.blm.gov/rsfo. The newsletter is designed to keep all interested parties informed on the progress of the Jack Morrow Hills planning process.

"We looked at ways to curb printing costs; improve accessibility to this information; and accelerate delivery time of this product. Getting the newsletter on the web answers all of these concerns for us," Adame said. The first two newsletters published will be placed on the web within the next few weeks.

Past recipients of mailed JMH newsletters will receive a one-time notice that the newsletter will only be found on the Internet.

The BLM will send these people a post card asking them if they want a hard copy or compact disk of the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement. If they do, they must reply to the BLM at the address shown on the post card by Nov. 8.
