Candidates report expenditures
Gaining the political party's nomination in the August primary election saw a wide variety of candidate spending, from a few dollars for a thank-you ad, to the high of nearly $4,000.
The deadline for reporting campaign expenditures resulted in a flurry of filings in the Sublette County Clerk's office.
Top money was spent in the race for the Republican nomination for county attorney. In that race, the committee to elect successful challenger Van Graham outspent incumbent Dale Aronson's committee by a ratio of two to one.
Contributions to the Committee to Elect Van Graham totaled $3,590, will all of that money coming from individuals. The committee spent all but a few dollars of that total.
Contributions to the Graham campaign included $100 each from Vernon Delgado, Carl Winters, Donald and Thelma Griner, Ed Wood, and Debi Ruland, all of Pinedale; M.H. Patton of Atlanta, Ga.; and John Anselin, whose address was not listed. Robert Brodie of Jackson contributed $140 to the Graham campaign; and Douglas Reiniger of Bondurant contributed $250.
Contributions of $500 to Graham's campaign were received from Rod Matthews, Blatt Land and Livestock, Cary and Connie Stanley, Jennifer Binning and Stanley's Junction.
Graham himself also filed his expenditure report, with him spending and contributing a total of $598.
Dale Aronson's committee had total receipts of $1,651, and spent $1,522. Aronson contributed $876, while contributions from individuals accounted for the remaining $650. Deputy county attorney Theodore Racines of Jackson contributed $200 towards Aronson's re-election campaign, while Ronald Chilcote of Pinedale contributed $50. Contributions of $100 were received from Charlene Kallas, Judith Adler, Dennis Schroder, all of Pinedale, and Connie Dahl of Big Piney. Aronson's campaign also received $125 of in-kind contributions.
