Wyoming Fires

The Cow Camp Fire in the Wolf Lake area of the Bridger-Teton National Forest near Boulder was declared controlled July 7. This lightning-caused fire burned 339 acres.

Four large wildfires continued to burn in Wyoming as this issue went to press.

The Broad Fire in Yellowstone National Park had burned 600 acres and was zero percent contained, burning about 20 miles southeast of Mammoth.

The South Fork Fire is located about 10 miles west of Fort Washakie in the Wind River Roadless Area of the Wind River Indian Reservation. This fire has burned 13,990 acres and was reportedly 35 percent contained.

The Reese Mountain Fire is located about 30 miles west of Wheatland, consuming 19,334 acres and was 92 percent contained.

The Hensel Fire is located 20 miles northwest of Wheatland and was reported to have burned 14,630 acres and is now 96 percent contained.
