Chuckwagon Days

By Carie Whitman

Big Piney's rock band Off Limits performed for a crowd of all ages at the street dance on Indepedence Day. Brian Sawyer, Chris Taylor and Robin Miley began playing rock and roll together about a year ago and the result is a definite crowd pleaser.

Truth Ministries Church was very well represented with this beautiful float.

Western Veterinary Service helps sponsor the first annual Dean Luce dutch oven cook-off and Chuckwagon Days Rodeo.

The Elliott family was one of the many families enjoying the day's festivities.

Philip Smith, mayor of Big Piney, stands proudly with 2002 Grand Marshal Ava Davis. Rather than letting us know her age, Ava said, "Put it this way, we ARE the old, oldtimers!" Ava proves after many years of giving to the community to just simply love Big Piney.

This beautiful team and wagon, compliments of Elkhorn Stock Contractors out of Lehi, Utah, presents "Old Glory" to Sublette County.

Local cowboys Soul Bencomo (headin') and Kyle Chrismann (heelin') are two of the 300 entries in the rodeo.

This is just a small portion of the 600 spectators who enjoyed the rodeo on the Fourth of July.

Gary Rees & Dick Holgate are two of the many volunteers who served grub at the free Chuckwagon Days barbecue.
